The Appian Way bike tour is designed for those who want to go beyond the classic historic center itinerary and discover a greener, more archaeological and surprising side of Rome. This route combines ancient monuments, nature, historic roads and wide open spaces, offering a completely different experience from a traditional city visit.
The tour starts in Trastevere and continues towards Tiber Island, Circus Maximus and the archaeological area of the Baths of Caracalla. From there, the route gradually enters a more ancient and monumental part of Rome, reaching Porta San Sebastiano, one of the city’s historic gates.
The heart of the experience is the Ancient Appian Way, one of the most famous roads of the ancient world. Riding along this historic route, you will pass important archaeological sites such as the Catacombs of San Callisto, the Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella, the Temple of Jupiter and Villa dei Quintili. The itinerary offers a quieter and more scenic way to experience Rome, far from the busiest streets of the city center.
The tour continues towards the Park of the Aqueducts, the Felice Aqueduct, the Caffarella Park and Via Latina before returning to Trastevere. It is the ideal route for travelers who love Roman history, nature and outdoor experiences. This bike tour is perfect for discovering the Ancient Appian Way with a local guide and exploring a lesser-known but truly fascinating side of Rome.
The visitor’s astonishment will fill us up with pride and joy, just like a child who is happy to perceive his mother as an object of the people’s high appreciation and admiration. Passion for the old charming Vespas and bicycles has done the rest, making us choose these vehicles to lead you right through the City, in depth. These are the emotions that we will be proud to share with those, who, on the occasion of their visit to Rome, perhaps for the first time, will choose us as their “Cicero” (guides).
